Every member of Valued Shops collects reviews. We select honest entrepreneurs at the gate and give their customers a voice to share real experiences. This makes our reviews very reliable. We therefore advise consumers never to blindly rely on a quality mark, but also to check reviews. This can be done, for example, via the members page on this website.
How reliable are reviews?
In consultation with ACM, we pay a lot of attention to collecting, checking and managing truly reliable reviews for WebwinkelKeur members. We use different designations per review to explain the origin:
verified customer of…
Customers of our members receive an invitation by email to post a review. This email is automatically sent by our system after an order has been completed within the webshop software of the webshop. These reviews are shown on the members page with the label 'verified customer of...'
customer of….
In addition, customers of our members have the option to write a review without an invitation. These are so-called 'unverified reviews', which are shown on the members page with the label 'customer of....'
Authenticity of reviews
We monitor this by the following rules:
• The review writer must confirm the email address.
• The online retailer has no option to adjust a review itself.
• All reviews are posted immediately, both negative and positive.
• We have an algorithm that checks various characteristics to see whether a review is possibly fake.
• Suspicious reviews will be deleted after review by our customer service team if we have identified them as fake.
• Members can submit a moderation request if they suspect a review is not from a customer. We will then launch an investigation.
• We do not allow our members to collect paid reviews. This could include a review in exchange for a product (to test), money or a discount.
• We take strict action against members who publish fake reviews and can also revoke their membership.

Tips for reading reviews
As a consumer it is good to be critical, this can be done, among other things, by reading reviews.
• How many reviews are there? Multiple reviews say more than just a few reviews.
• When were these reviews posted? Recent reviews are important. Reviews have also been collected in recent months to indicate that the online store is stable.
• How are complaints dealt with? Every company makes a mistake sometimes, so negative reviews are not a bad thing. However, it is important that complaints are taken seriously and a solution is found.
• Check multiple sources. For example, Google the name of the webshop and search for more experiences. If known, we also refer to external sources on our members page to assess the reliability of the online store.
Our average is not only based on our own reviews, but also on reviews from external sources
Average score
The average score shown is not only based on your own reviews, but in many cases also on reviews from external sources if they have been added within the profile. For example, we can include Google's score in the calculation.
Calculation of the score
The assessment score is based on a 'likert scale', in this case consisting of 1 to 5 stars that translate into a score of 2 to 10. According to that formula, a score of 3 stars is equal to a 6. This formula has the following effect: that a score of 1 star gives the online retailer a 2 and not 1 or 0. The score shown is an average of all reviews, with and without review text.
External sources
In addition to the score that we calculate with our own reviews, WebwinkelKeur can also include reviews from external platforms in the average score. These reviews count equally in the average score. For example, 100 reviews at WebwinkelKeur (with an average of 9) and 100 reviews collected elsewhere (with an average of 8) lead to an average score of 8.5.
Influencing scores
The reviews we collect do not include paid reviews or reviews that resulted from a contractual relationship. The external sources may consist (in part) of paid reviews or reviews that arise from a contractual relationship. If external sources are added, the average grade may also be affected.
Removal of reviews
In principle, we do not delete reviews, only in the case of foul language or when they are demonstrably unjustified, removal is necessary. This may be the case, for example, when a competitor or someone who is not a customer writes a review or an angry customer deliberately tells untruths. It is important that we do not discuss feelings. For example, one customer may be very dissatisfied when an order is delayed by a few days, while another customer may not mind this as much. We only check whether the facts are correct and in other cases give the online retailer the opportunity to respond to the assessment. Our terms of use are guiding in this regard.
Whether a store can refuse a return depends on various factors, including the store's return policy, the reason for the return, and consumer protection laws in your country. In many jurisdictions, consumers have rights to return goods under certain conditions, such as if the item is defective or not as described. However, stores may have their own policies regarding returns for reasons such as change of mind. It's essential to review the store's return policy and familiarize yourself with your rights as a consumer to determine if the refusal is allowed. If you believe the refusal violates consumer protection laws, you may have recourse through legal channels or consumer advocacy organizations. Your rights as a customer depend on the situation, and we assess them based on the relevant legal requirements for each case. If you have a dispute with one of our members, we can assist you by facilitating mediation between you and the member to help resolve the issue. We provide a neutral platform where both parties can present their perspectives, and we work to find a mutually acceptable solution. If mediation is unsuccessful, you may have the option to escalate the dispute to our DigiDispuut disputes resolution service for further assistance. You can adjust your review by using the invitation link you received or by sending us an email, and we'll provide you with a modification link. If you still have questions we did not answered above please feel free to contact us.You may ask..
